How to Apply

There are separate admission requirements for the master of architecture (MArch) professional degree, the master of architecture (MArch II) postprofessional degree, and the master of science in historic preservation (MSHP).

However, all applicants must first apply to and be accepted by the Graduate School before submitting materials to the Department of Architecture for consideration of acceptance into any of the three master's degree programs.

U.S. citizens must first apply and be accepted to Ball State University by the Graduate School. Learn more about the requirements of Ball State's Graduate School and apply to the Graduate School.

Prospective international students must first apply to and be accepted by Ball State University by the Rinker Center for International Programs. Learn more about the requirements of Ball State's Rinker Center for International Programs and apply to the Rinker Center.

As you prepare for admission, look into our graduate assistantships. A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to qualified master’s degree candidates based on merit. In exchange for full or part time teaching, research or service work, graduate assistants receive a stipend along with a tuition waiver (full or half). Stipend amounts vary dependent upon funds available.
