Graduate Innovation Fellowship

The Graduate Innovation Fellowships (GIF) are part of our commitment in the master’s of architecture professional program to integrate graduate education with knowledge creation and leadership. This is accomplished in collaboration with Ball State’s various knowledge creation units.

A select number of promising incoming master’s of architecture graduate students who have been selected as graduate assistants will be offered GIFs based on their interests and their readiness for this honor. Based on this information, each student selected for a GIF will be assigned to a Ball State center or institute.

The fellowship offers added value by enabling:

  • Immersion in the ongoing knowledge-creation activities of the centers and institutes for one year, as part of their assistantship
  • Initiation as a life-long member of the GIF network at Ball State University
  • Access to up to $1,000 to present work at a peer-reviewed conference during the second year of study
  • Collaboration in organizing an annual event to showcase work
