History

In response to the initiative of the College of Architecture and Planning’s first dean, and with the support of university administrators, a new program in landscape architecture was announced in 1967. By September of 1969, two students were enrolled in the five-year professional bachelor of landscape architecture program.  In 1975, the program was awarded departmental status, and the master of landscape architecture program was initiated.
