Our courses are challenging, yet fun. And our professors are firm, yet fair. Our faculty members come from a variety of backgrounds totaling years of expert experience in urban planning.
We are engaged in constant research, but we know our first priority is to give you the skills you need to have a successful career or attend a graduate program.
The Department of Urban Planning offers several areas of study for you to choose from, and two minor options are also available. If you’ve already obtained a bachelor’s degree, then our master’s degree programs in urban and regional planning and in urban design are a great way to expand your knowledge of planning. As a master’s student, you will learn about our program's values and why we are the only accredited urban planning program in Indiana.
At Ball State, you will engage in hands-on learning at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our nationally recognized Community-Based Projects (CBP) program offers you the opportunity to put your skills to the test by solving real community problems. Through other immersive learning opportunities, you can work with students from multiple majors to provide practical solutions for a business or community partner.
If you like to travel, our study-abroad programs take students to Asia, Italy, Germany, and Greece, to name a few locations. On campus, our students also enjoy access to top-notch facilities, technology, and resources.
