The master of urban and regional planning (MURP) degree is a rigorous program that leads to professional certification by the
American Institute of Certified Planners. Certification requires a prescribed combination of planning education, professional practice, and a nationally administered examination.
The MURP curriculum is segmented into a common
core that all students take, a core particular to a chosen area of
concentrated study, and allied electives available in planning and 16 other fields. The core presents knowledge that is essential to planning or its concentration areas.
As a MURP student, you will get the benefits of
personal studio space and the latest technology,
community-based projects, and
study abroad trips. You will also benefit from a variety of “out-of-calls” experiences and resources that equip you for a successful
career.
