College of Applied Sciences and Technology

Partnerships with local and state organizations and businesses allow the College of Applied Sciences and Technology to enhance its academic programs and offer students real-world experiences outside the classroom. The relationships also allow faculty members to share their knowledge and expertise with the community.

Here are just a few of the ways we are partnering with community organizations:

  • IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital provides clinical sites for nursing students, have donated clinical practice equipment, and have supported the development of an innovative new nursing course. In addition, the hospital funds a scholarship for our nursing program and awards for nursing graduates.
  • Students in the dietetic technology program complete a supervised practice in the clinical area at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
  • Ball State's Biomechanics Laboratory combines the skills and expertise of rehabilitation professionals and university researchers to provide state-of-the-art rehabilitation and performance enhancement services for athletes and other members of the community.
  • Ball State's Human Performance Laboratory and IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital have established a medical advisory board to assist with clinical research programs. Composed of physicians and Ball State faculty members, the advisory board provides medical consulting and professional services related to human clinical research in the Human Performance Lab.
  • Second-year graduate students in the exercise science program work with cardiac rehab and cancer rehab patients at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, are helping students to improve their knowledge and comfort in clinical rehabilitation settings.
