Participating in one or several student media and organizations is an important aspect of your college career, which is why we fully support all 40 of them.
Several of our organizations are nationally recognized and others are based on academics such as the journalism honor society Kappa Tau Alpha. Our student media allow you to sharpen your skills as you learn them, and the media and other organizations can often help you network by linking you with professionals in your field.
Not to mention, they’re fun, and you meet people with whom you may share an interest. In addition to making new friends, you can explore certain media or subject areas because most media and groups don’t require prior experience to join. For example, interested in what goes into a radio broadcast but have no idea how it happens? Check out how it works by joining Ball State’s student run, FCC-licensed radio station, 91.3 WCRD-FM.
Each fall, we hold an event known as Super Party to introduce new students to all of our student media and organizations. If you’re still undecided on a major, attend the gathering to learn which student groups you may want to join and get a nice introduction to our variety of majors. Contact us for more information.
