The Art and Journalism Building, a central gathering place on campus, houses the School of Art and the Department of Journalism.
AJ, as we like to call it, was built in 2001, and its prime location in the heart of campus offers a food court, campus bookstore, an art gallery, and a Jamba Juice, giving it the feel of a second student center. The Atrium is the bright, lively food court, which offers a variety of foods, from Italian to Chinese, and even a Chick-fil-A. Breakfast is also available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Also, if you have that urge for a smoothie, head over to the shop behind the bookstore.
Ball Bearings, an online multimedia publication, and student-run newspaper, The Ball State Daily News, also find their home in AJ.
