In 1988, the Ball Communication Building (BC Building) opened a new door for technology at Ball State and specifically for the College of Communication, Information, and Media. The building offers several television studios, a wireless lab, a visual animation lab, an electronic newsroom, teleconferencing capabilities, and a converged newsroom.
The Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS) offers you hands-on equipment to prepare you for any career in information technology. You can also find the Center for Media Design (CMD), a research and development facility focused on the creation, testing and practical application of digital technologies for business, classroom, home, and community. It has achieved a national reputation for ground-breaking communication research.
University Media Services offers multimedia capabilities to faculty, staff, and departments across campus. NewsLink Indiana and Indiana Public Broadcasting (WIPB) can also be found in the Ball Communication Building.
