In 1988, the Ball Communication Building (BC Building) opened a new door for technology at Ball State and specifically for the
College of Communication, Information, and Media. The building offers several television studios, a wireless lab, a
visual animation lab, an electronic newsroom, teleconferencing capabilities, and a converged newsroom.

Center for Media Design (CMD), a research and development facility focused on the creation, testing and practical application of digital technologies for business, classroom, home, and community. It has achieved a national reputation for ground-breaking communication research.
