Demetrios Skalkotos (1987) NASDAQ OMX Announces New Appointment in Global Corporate Services

New York, NY, August 31, 2009 — The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ) today announced Demetrios N. Skalkotos has been appointed Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Services.

In his new role, Mr. Skalkotos will be responsible for all new product development, operations, customer relations and business development for the Global Corporate Services business. He will be based in New York and report to Bruce Aust, Executive Vice President, Global Corporate Client Group.

Global Corporate Services (GCS) is one of the fastest growing areas of NASDAQ OMX’s business, with revenues from investor relations, surveillance, and board member services increasing by 25 percent from second quarter 2008 to second quarter 2009. Through GCS, companies gain access to products and services that intend to facilitate transparency, mitigate risk, maximize board efficiency and inspire better investor relations.

Since 2003, Mr. Skalkotos has held the position of Regional Vice President, Central U.S., based in NASDAQ OMX’s Chicago office. He has played a significant role in listed company client relationship management and new business development in this region. He also was instrumental in the launch of the NASDAQ Global Select Market tier in 2006.

Ball State Graduate New Statehouse Press Secretary

(STATEHOUSE) Aug. 26, 2009 – Muncie native and recent Ball State University graduate student Todd W. Darroca was today named by Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-Fort Wayne) as a new press secretary for the Senate Republican Majority Caucus.

“While at Ball State, Todd received his bachelor’s degree in telecommunications with an emphasis on broadcast news and his master’s degree in information and communication sciences,” Long told Senate colleagues in introducing Darroca. “He distinguished himself both as a student at Ball State and also as a candidate for this key staff position, which attracted applicants from across the nation.”

Long pointed out Darroca was recently honored by his graduate program as the 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year. He also received an Emmy award from his work on the BSU television show Connections LIVE!.

As a Senate press secretary, Darroca will join a team responsible for print, radio, television and e-communications for 33 members of the GOP caucus.

“I am excited to start a new chapter in my life. I look forward to joining a team of passionate individuals – both lawmakers and staff – who strive to make a difference for the people of Indiana,” Darroca said.

Senate leaders appointed Darroca to serve as press secretary to eight state senators, including five committee chairs: Sens. Vaneta Becker (R-Evansville), Richard Bray (R-Martinsville), Beverly Gard (R-Greenfield), Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg), Johnny Nugent (R-Lawrenceburg), Allen Paul (R-Richmond), Brent Steele (R-Bedford) and Greg Walker (R-Columbus). Bray, Gard, Nugent, Paul and Steele all chair committees.

Darroca, a 2005 graduate of Delta High School, is the son of Roberto and Jeanne Darroca of Muncie.
