1. Welcome and Introduction (Jason Cray and Participant Researchers)
- 1.1. Jason Cray will preside as manager and Emmie Lancaster will be the comanager this term.
- 1.2. HFI is concerned with its outward identity, to always be seen as hard working.
- 1.3. Professional apparel is strongly encouraged.
- 1.4. Our focus in HFI is to create published and sponsored research.
- 1.5. HFI will be the first institution out of the gates and running.
- 1.6. Always associate yourself with your work.
- 1.7. Keep your commitment to the institution, and the experience will be rewarding.
- 1.8. Your time spent with HFI will be the equivalent to any other course.
- 1.9. When assigned a task, act immediately.
- 1.10. HFI began as First Consulting Group (FCG) meetings and is now in its 3rd year.
2. Joel Patrick “Expectations and Potentials”

- 2.2. Use QuickPlace to share information to others in your group.
- 2.3. Tony Piazza is the manager for the HFI QuickPlace.

3. Opening Remarks (Jason Cray)
- 3.1. Facilitators will run the meetings, and the job of facilitator will be assigned to a different individual at the end of each meeting for the next meeting.
- 3.2. Scribes will record the minutes for each meeting and then e-mail the minutes to Jason Cray by the following Tuesday. This position rotates in the same fashion as the facilitator.
4. Projects
- 4.1. DCC Project
- 4.1.1. We must improve the DCC by considering new and useful features.
- 4.2. TeleHealth TigrVue
- 4.2.1. One unit currently installed in the Ball State nursing school.
- 4.2.2. Our current goal is to get 42 units installed in the Ball Memorial birthing center.
- 4.2.3. Questionnaire is still unapproved; this is the first step to installing the units.
- 4.2.4. Emmie Lancaster is the lead on this project.
- 4.2.5. Dylnn Milo is the primary contact at BMH, CICS graduate.
- 4.3. Athletic Department
- 4.3.1. Potential candidate for a wireless project.
- 4.3.2. It is not likely that this project would commence until the closing of the football season.
5. Commentary by Professor Bellaver
- 5.1. UPA
- 5.1.1. There is a Usability Professionals’ Association (UPA) meeting on September 13th in Indianapolis.
- 5.1.2. UPA membership is twenty dollars and grants you membership to the local chapter.
- 5.1.3. The annual conference is in Montreal this year.
- 5.2. TigrVue
- 5.2.1. The main difficulty in this project is to prove hospital profitability.
- 5.2.2. After the approval of the questionnaire, there must be a limited usability study as well as after action questionnaires.
6. Closing Comments by Researchers and Facilitators
- 6.1. Remain diligent in your work; your commitment to HFI will result in a rewarding experience.
- 6.2. Add “Research Associate” to your resume immediately when you join HFI.
- 6.3. HFI Bull’s Eye includes three dimensions:
- 6.3.1. Human-Machine Interaction (Center)
- 6.3.2. Ergonomics (2 Layer)
- 6.3.3. Knowledge Management (3 Layer)
7. Next Meeting
- 7.1. Our next meeting is on Friday September 10, at 10 a.m. in the Solution Center.
- 7.2. Emmie Lancaster will facilitate.
