STI’s Objectives and Partners

The Software Testing Institute (STI) provides hands-on software testing services that include usability testing, operating system compatibility, application compatibility, and head-to-head comparisons. The institute creates customized testing methodologies—including determining user profiles, developing critical paths, creating qualitative and quantitative testing tools—and then conducts tests.

Objectives include:

  • providing software testing experiences to students in a team environment
  • establishing client-vendor relationships with companies and organizations
  • promoting STI as a quality service entity of the Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS)

Current and previous client partners include the Software Engineering Research Center, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, CICS, the Center for Interactive Learning, Delco Remy International, Vision Athena Indiana’s videoconferencing network for teaching and learning, the Center for Media Design at Ball State, Whitinger Consulting, Motorola, Auctor Corp., Baker Hill Corp. and Ontario Systems.
