Hands-On and/or Immersive Learning Opportunities

Ball State prides itself on preparing students for success after graduation. Our immersive learning opportunities give students hands-on experience making a difference in the world as part of their studies.

Every semester, students have numerous opportunities to be part of an interdisciplinary team that provides real-world solutions to real-world problems. Some recent examples include:

  • juvenile justice program where students develop educational media to teach other students about the juvenile justice system
  • a prisoner reentry project in which students explore ways to help prisoners return to society and reduce recidivism
  • a documentary providing a victim-centered perspective on the sexual assault casework process
  • criminal justice professions projects that allow students to explore unexpected career options in the criminal justice field
