Build upon your communication studies education and boost your career marketability by enrolling in the Certified Training Consultant Institute, a partnership between the Department of Communication Studies and Ball State’s Center for Organizational Resources. The end result: You can be designated a certified training consultant (CTC).
The CTC Institute is a series of six, three-hour seminars designed to provide the skills you need to serve as an effective consultant and trainer for commercial organizations, government units, and nonprofit organizations. It’s open to graduate students enrolled in the Department of Communication Studies or the Center for Information and Communication Sciences.
Here’s how to be a part of this valuable program:
- Complete two communication studies courses: COMM 650 (Communication Training in Organizations) and COMM 653 (Issues in Communication Consultation). This provides the content of the six CTC seminars.
- Complete the CTC participant assessment.
- Complete an additional training or consulting project (to be determined by the student and the CTC director).
- Submit the participant assessment and project within three months of completing the two courses.
- Pay a $50 CTC registration and project evaluation fee.
