You can choose what method of delivery best fits into your life. In addition to courses offered on our campus, we have several ways to deliver your education:
Online/Internet
Each course has its own Web site that you will log onto to obtain the course syllabus, communicate with your instructor and classmates, complete your homework, and receive announcements from your instructor. These courses are often asynchronous—meaning there is no need to come to campus or worry about missing a lecture. Instead, we bring the campus to you on your own time to wherever you access the Internet. Learn more.
Other online delivery options are:
Independent Learning
The name says it all. You learn on your own, independently. You may register for classes anytime during the year and select from nine-month and/or 10-week courses. These operate the same as online/Internet classes. Only undergraduate courses are offered via this mode of delivery. Learn more.
Web Conferencing
These courses also use the Internet for delivery but are unique in that professors teach live on our main campus in Muncie while being simultaneously video streamed through the Internet to your computer, so you must “attend” or view the course at a set time. Also, you must have a high-speed Internet connection, such as DSL, cable, or a T1 line to view these classes. You will be able to phone in, instant message, or e-mail questions to your professor during class. Learn more.
Live, Off-campus Classes
Ball State faculty often travel to our off-campus locations in Indianapolis and Fishers, Indiana, to teach. Learn more.
