Gifted and Talented (High Abilities) Education License and Certificate

Neumeister
Veteran online professor Kristie Speirs Neumeister has written a textbook that engages students in her favorite subject—gifted and talented education. Read her story.

To shape the minds of our schools’ brightest students, you must be able to recognize gifted and talented students and design appropriate curricula for their talent development.

Our high ability license/certificate will provide you with the opportunity to increase your expertise in the characteristics of gifted students and design instructional programs and services to suit their needs, including:

  • the identification of students
  • the evaluation of students and programs
  • the design of appropriate curricula for talent development
  • the social emotional needs of gifted students

If you are an Indiana teacher, this program will allow you to earn a gifted and talented license. If you are from another state, you will earn a gifted and talented certificate.

Accelerated Format
You can take classes leading to the gifted and talented license/certificate in an accelerated online format that features 8-week classes and the ability to finish in one year. Learn more about our new accelerated graduate-level programs.

Delivery Mode
All courses for this license can be taken online.
