Associate in Science in Radiation Therapy

The associate in science (AS) in radiation therapy offers a curriculum that will enable you to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for an entry-level position as a radiation therapist.

You will learn radiation therapy skills such as operating equipment, safety and quality control procedures, preparing immobilization devices, positioning patients for procedures, providing basic nursing and medical care, and preparing data for physician interpretation. You will be prepared for careers in hospitals, free-standing therapy clinics, commercial sales, education, and management.

As a graduate of the program, you will be able to apply for the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Methods of Delivery
This program can be taken as a blend of on-site courses on Ball State's main campus in Muncie, Indiana, and online courses. Plus, there is an on-site clinical phase at Methodist Hospital (a Clarian Health facility) in Indianapolis.
