Tier 1: Foundation Courses

Tier 1 includes of the Ball State core curriculum includes the largest number of classes. These foundational courses include subjects you will need to be well-versed for the rest of your college courses and in life.

15 Required Credit Hours

• ENG 104 Composing Research (you may also need its pre-requisite: ENG 103) (3 credit hours)
• COMM 210 Fundamentals of Public Communication (3 credit hours)
• MATH 125 Mathematics and Its Applications (3 credit hours)
  or, if you are a business administration major, you will take MATHS 132 Brief Calculus (3 credit hours)
• HIST 150 The West in the World (3 credit hours)
  or,  HIST 151 World Civilization 1 (3 credit hours) and HIST 152 World Civilization 2 (3 credit hours)
• FIN 101 Personal Finance for Fiscal Wellness (1 credit hour)
• PFW 160 Individualized Fitness and Wellness (2 credit hours)
