Late Fees and Penalties
Late Payments
If your tuition payment is received late, the
Bursar's Office will assume that you wish to participate in the
installment plan and will assess you an installment fee (assessed per due date)
and a late fee.
You will be charged a late fee if your minimum payment is not received by the due date. Late fee charges are:
- $25 per due date for fall and spring semester (if you are paying by installments, you can have as many as four due dates)
- $50 for summer semester (one due date)
Be sure to check your Ball State e-mail account for the bill notification that is sent every time a statement is ready to view. Failure to receive the e-mail notification or failure to view your statement is not a valid reason for waiving the assessment of a late payment fee.
Penalties
If payment is not received by the due date, the following steps may take place:
- an administrative hold may be placed on your records
- you may not be permitted to register for a subsequent term
- your transcript and/or diploma may be withheld
- additional fees for late payment
- sent to collection with additional costs, but not limited to, attorney fees and court costs
