Graduate Assistantships

The English Department offers master’s and doctoral candidates teaching and research assistantships on a competitive basis. 

Graduate assistantships stipends for the 2012-2013 academic year:

• Doctoral students: $17,394 for the academic year.
• Master's students: $13,547 for the academic year.
• Summer session assistantships, if available, are funded at 15 percent of the academic year stipend.

If you are a new applicant and wish to be considered for an assistantship, be sure to check the appropriate box on the Graduate School application, and be sure to complete your application by January 15. 

Decisions about assistantships are generally made in March and announced in April.
