You must earn a C or better in ENG 150, the introductory course specifically tailored to English/Language Arts teaching majors.
Every student who pursues a program leading to a teaching license must complete a digital portfolio. The digital portfolio is a major source of information and assessment about the student's progress toward recommendation for a teaching license.
You begin your portfolio in ENG 150, and your instructor will formally assess your portfolio during this initial course.
During your course of study, there are four decision points (evaluations) to check on your progress in meeting requirements necessary for you to remain in the program and be eligible for graduation and licensing.
For help with your portfolio, contact Michael Parsley, portfolio support manager and iCare coordinator.
The attitudes and values shown by teachers are important indicators of success. At DP1, assessment takes place in ENG 150.
