Matt Mullins writes screenplays, fiction, and poetry. He also makes filmpoems and creates digital/electronic literature. He currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in screenwriting and creative writing in the creative writing area of Ball State's english department. His fiction and poetry have been published in a number of literary journals including Pleiades, Hunger Mountain, Harper Palate, Hobart, and The Mid American Review. His award-winning filmpoems have been screened at festivals and conferences around the world and been featured in various online journals. His experiments in digital/interactive literature have been archived by the Library of Congress and can be found at lit-digital.com. His collaborative work as a screenwriter won the Broadcast Education Association’s award for Best Feature Length Screenplay, a first for Ball State. 

In addition to his creative projects and his work as professor of creative writing, professor Mullins has won the University-wide Creative Endeavor Award, and was awarded an Emerging Media Fellowship through the Center for Media Design. He also collaborates often with Ball State’s telecommunications department through his involvement in two annual immersive learning programs: The Cinema Entertainment Immersion, for which his students write the scripts, and The TCOM Summer HD Movie Immersion, for which he is Co-Director of Story Development.
