Kay Piotrowicz, who earned her Master's degree through the Residential Property Management Program, combines creativity and business savvy to make the Flaherty & Collins Properties' portfolio different from the competition. As the company's Marketing Manager, she works closely with the on-site staffs within the Flaherty & Collins Properties portfolio. Kay spends her workday with on-site and corporate staff to ensure the appropriate marketing strategies, plans, and implementations are in place to attract the target market and that occupancy goals are being met.
Kay began her employment with Flaherty & Collins Properties as an intern, a requirement within the RPM program. She has since been an assistant to a Senior Regional Manager and Assistant Marketing Director during her four years with Flaherty & Collins Properties. During the 2008-2009 academic year, Kay was asked to return to Ball State as an adjunct faculty member for the RPM Program instructing two classes. Through these courses, she was able to share her expertise, utilizing both her Technology Education and Residential Property Management Masters Degrees along with her extensive experience she gained working in the field.
Looking back on her success in the RPM field, Kay is thankful for her experiences at Ball State. "The RPM Advisory Board and the professors within the department have always been a tremendous help in networking with others in the industry. By encouraging students to attend meetings, conferences and other functions within the industry, the faculty has opened a lot of doors for new graduates entering the field."
