Additional Requirements

Following acceptance into the Ball State Dietetic Internship, each applicant must:

  • provide a Verification Statement
  • have reliable, insured transportation
  • be willing to relocate to another Indiana community during the internship
  • have personal health insurance
  • successfully complete a minimum of 9 graduate credit hours at Ball State University prior to the start of the internship. Of the 9 credit hours, 3 are earned from FCSFN 642, Nutrition Assessment; 3 are earned from course within the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences; and 3 are earned from courses within or outside the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
  • maintain a graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher at Ball State University
  • be a student member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • meet all health related admission requirements of Ball State University, the Dietetic Internship and internship rotation sites. This may include, but is not limited to, physical exam, (including TB test), vaccinations, criminal background check, drug test, and abuse registry check
  • have reliable access to a BSU e-mail account
  • have access to a laptop computer with wireless capabilities
