If you want to field questions from reporters and the community about severe weather, a path in meteorology may interest you.

Forecasting opportunities are available for students who would like to be meteorologists but don’t want to be in front of the camera. As a meteorologist, you will spend your time studying the atmosphere and how it affects the weather. You will also do research, study climate changes, and environmental problems.

Using our high-tech weather station, which houses an on-site meteorological station, you will get hands-on experience in forecasting.

Also, several of our alumni have interned at local National Weather Service stations to get more training.
