In addition to meeting the
Graduate School requirements,
you must also meet the following requirements:
- A master's degree in a science, science education, or a related field from an accredited institution with a grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- If you have not earned a master's degree, you can apply to one of the eight departments involved with the doctoral program. Upon completion of a master's degree program, you may apply to the doctoral program. With careful planning, your master's course work can be applied to your doctoral program's plan of study.
- Outstanding promise as a teacher-scholar in a science or science education, as demonstrated by success in previous college studies, test scores, and experience.
Additional Requirement for Science Education Applicants
- At least two years successful professional experience in teaching or the equivalent and teacher certification in field relevant to your intended major.
