Admission Requirements

The Graduate School requires students to have an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher, or 3.0 for the second half of undergraduate career. Students with lower GPAs may apply for probationary admission.

Our department requires Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores of at least 470 verbal, 530 quantitative, and 520 analytical (or an acceptable combination of GPA and GRE scores), and that you submit the scores. Candidates are expected have completed acceptable geology field courses or field camp as undergraduates; alternatively, you have to complete Ball State field camp as part of the master's requirements.
