Adult, Higher, and Community Education

Enhance your ability to work effectively with adults in a variety of settings ranging from higher education to business and industry to government to community and social organizations with a doctor of education (EdD) in adult, higher, and community education.

You’ll learn how to design, implement, and evaluate adult educational programs, and you’ll benefit from working with top-notch faculty. As part of our prestigious Teachers College, this degree allows you to take advantage of all the college has to offer.

You can choose from two concentrations. The adult/community education concentration emphasizes management, planning, personnel and program development, teaching, and evaluation. The higher education concentration emphasizes college and university teaching and curriculum design, administration, and organizational and policy development, all with a special focus on social justice advocacy related to postsecondary institutions.

Many of our students are working professionals, and this program is designed to give you the opportunity to combine your educational pursuits with your career.
