When you pursue a
doctor of philosophy (PhD) in counseling psychology, you’ll be trained to work in a variety of settings and have a strong understanding of the integration of theory, research, and intervention strategies.
You’ll have
the option of completing one 24-hour cognate in psychology or two 15-hour cognates, with one of the cognates in psychology. Ball State’s doctoral program, which is highly selective and accepts only 10 students each year, is fully
accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
You’ll learn from
the best, and you’ll benefit from working side-by-side with licensed psychologists helping area residents at our
Counseling Practicum Clinic. Our nationally acclaimed
Department of Counseling Psychology and Guidance Services is part of Ball State’s prestigious
Teachers College.
Apply today to the Graduate School and the
Department of Counseling Psychology and Guidance Services. All doctoral students are guaranteed a
doctoral assistant position with a full tuition waiver (some fees still apply).
