When you pursue a
master of arts in counseling, you can choose to focus on one of four tracks:
mental health counseling,
school counseling,
rehabilitation counseling, or
community counseling, or you can choose a
double major in counseling and social psychology.
You’ll be prepared to work as a counselor helping people deal with a range of issues to improve their well-being and productivity. You’ll learn from
the best, and you’ll benefit from working side-by-side with licensed psychologists helping area residents at our
Counseling Practicum Clinic. Our nationally acclaimed
counseling psychology and guidance services department is part of Ball State’s prestigious
Teachers College. The school counseling and community counseling tracks are accredited by the
Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, and our rehabilitation counseling track is accredited by the
Council on Rehabilitation Education.
