Family and Consumer Sciences

Earn a master of arts or master of science in family and consumer sciences, and you’ll be ready for several careers, ranging from property management to child care to interior design.

At Ball State, you’ll be part of our nationally accredited Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, and you’ll be able to design your program to focus on fashion merchandising, apparel design, residential property management, interior design, education, hospitality and food management, or family and child.

You’ll benefit from working with our top-notch faculty, and you’ll be able to take advantage of hands-on learning opportunities through our Child Study Center, which is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the department’s Allegre restaurant. (The department also has a master's program in dietetics.)

Apply today to the Graduate School and the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in the College of Applied Sciences and Technology. Learn how to defray tuition costs by becoming a graduate assistant or check out other options to pay for grad school.
