Geography

When you pursue a master of science (MS) in geography at Ball State, you have the opportunity to take advantage of excellent, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including leading software in remote sensing, geographic information systems, and cartography.

Our experienced faculty can guide you through a program focused on applied atmospheric science including climatology, weather analysis, and forecasting, or one focused on geographic information processing including cartography, remote sensing, and geographic information systems. The requirements are flexible so you can arrange your studies to serve as a foundation for further study, to prepare for positions in industry, business, or government, or to meet the immediate and changing needs of teachers and other educators. And you’ll benefit from unique activities such as our Storm Chase Team and the department’s annual trip throughout the Midwest as part of a storm chasing class.
