Gain important experience, take up to 12 credit hours each semester, and pay no tuition costs by working as a
graduate assistant in the history department (PDF). You’ll need to have at least an overall 3.0 grade point average (GPA) in your undergraduate studies, and you’ll need to take the general subject test of the Graduate Record Exam.
Graduate assistants typically assist faculty with teaching general studies history courses. In addition to a tuition waiver (you'll still pay some fees), you'll receive a stipend along with
bookstore discounts and other perks.
