You must submit all application materials to the Graduate School at least four weeks before the term in which you plan to begin graduate study. Be aware that some departments may have earlier deadlines and may require additional supporting credentials for admission.

2. Complete and submit the required material to the department of the program you want to study.
3. Complete and submit the Graduate School application along with the nonrefundable application fee ($25 if you’ve earned any degree from Ball State, $35 if you haven’t), and your transcripts to the Graduate School.
- Applications can completed online. You need a major credit card to pay the fee.
- You can also print out an application (PDF) or request one by phone, 866-285-GRAD (toll-free), or e-mail. Include your name, address, area of interest, and specific materials needed. Note: We will not take any action toward your admission until we’ve received your official transcripts, application fee, and completed Graduate School application.
About Transcripts
If this is the first time you’ve applied to Ball State, you must request one official transcript from the institution that granted your bachelor’s degree as well as from each institution you attended for any undergraduate and graduate course work.
1. Send one copy of each transcript to the Graduate School. The Graduate School will provide the department with a copy.
2. An official transcript is one that has been received directly from the issuing institution—often you can make a transcript request from the institution’s Web site. Official transcripts must bear the college seal, date, and an appropriate signature. Transcripts that do not meet these requirements will not be considered official.
3. All transcripts become the property of Ball State University. Note: If you've earned a degree from Ball State, you don't need to request transcripts.
