Checklist for Master’s Degree Students

Be sure to complete all the steps listed to graduate with your master’s degree: 

• Meet with your program advisor before you register or when you register to develop a program of study for your degree. 
• Submit a topic approval form with a description of your proposed research paper, creative project, or thesis to the master’s program committee and the dean of the Graduate School. It’s important to do this before you register for the research requirement.

• Submit your approved thesis, research paper, or creative project to the master’s program committee and the dean of the Graduate School. Learn more.
• Apply for graduation. 
• Submit appropriate forms.
