Lawrence and Mabel Hurst Scholarship

Dr. Lawrence Hurst was a long-time member of the history department. Through his generosity and that of his wife Mabel, the department has been able to use the income from a substantial bequest to support outstanding departmental and teaching majors with primary areas in history in their pursuit of their educational and professional goals.

Hurst Scholarships are conferred annually on the two junior and two senior undergraduate students with the highest grade-point averages.
