If you are interested in teaching, you may try the
social studies teaching option. Planning to go to grad school? Get prep for that in the
pre-graduate school major. No matter which program area you choose, you will learn how to analyze changes in values, ideas, and actions over time; evaluate conflicting interpretations of events; and communicate effectively.
In addition, your knowledge of history and skills of analysis and interpretation will help you develop a sense of historical perspective, assess current events and contemporary debates, and become a thoughtful and informed citizen.
