History
The study of history is much more than simply memorizing dates. Historical research is like detective work: you search for potential sources of information, consider the motivations that drove each writer, and construct your retelling of events.
History helps prepare you for everyday life and helps you to solve problems of the present and the future. Our history major will provide you with a generalist training in history, which means you will learn the fundamentals of analyzing and contextualizing bodies of social, cultural, and political data. With a degree in history, you can pursue graduate degrees or careers in law, teaching, government, business, and so much more.
If you would like to pursue an advanced degree in history, consider our pre-graduate school program.
