Internship Concentration

Ball State University is committed to providing a comprehensive education to you. One of the many ways we accomplish this is by offering you the opportunity to combine academic training with practical work experience.

The university's internship programs in particular form a link between the classroom and the world of work. Internships help students gain valuable paraprofessional experience while providing a direct service to employers.

We strongly believe in the value and benefits of experiential education to both you and employers. This commitment is made clear by the inclusion of experiential education in the university's mission statement and the institutional support given to the development and expansion of such opportunities. The Office of Workforce Education and Internships, part of Ball State’s University College, coordinates a university-wide program designed to help academic departments develop and promote internship opportunities.

The Career Center offers numerous resources for locating internship opportunities, including the maintenance of a reference collection of published materials and a Web site with current position postings. Qualified graduate and undergraduate students may participate in internships locally, regionally, nationally, or even internationally. In return, both large and small organizations and agencies benefit by accepting intern placements through Ball State's experiential education program.
