Final Report Guidelines
Here are some thoughts for you to consider as you compose your final report. Plan to address the following questions or points as they pertain to the entire internship experience (i.e., not just the period since the midterm report):
1) Provide a *brief* narrative description of your overall internship activities, but try not to merely repeat what you wrote in the midterm report; keep the focus on what specific things you have learned over the course of the semester.
2) Articulate how the knowledge or skills you acquired in the internship fit in with your educational, career, and life goals.
3) Identify specific skills and concepts you learned in your University history curriculum that you were able to draw on and apply at the internship site, especially including Hist. 240, 320, and 445.
4) Discuss the impact the internship has had on your values, ethics, and interpersonal skills.
5) Comment on what you found to be the most positive or satisfying aspects of the experience.
6) Assess the limitations or more negative aspects of the internship.
7) Suggest what additional concrete ways the a) agency, b) agency staff, and c) faculty supervisor could have helped provide you with a more meaningful experience.
8) Identify specific things you yourself could have done on this assignment that would have enhanced your learning experience.
9) Finally, rate your overall internship experience on the scale of excellent, good, satisfactory, or poor.
