Program Features

History is both art and science. It inspires creativity and imagination even as it demands precision, critical analysis, and objectivity.

Our programs are what they are because of the rich diversity of our faculty. They come from a variety of backgrounds with research extending from U.S. history to social studies education. During your time in our program, you will work closely with us, especially if you are a graduate assistant. You will help us do research while working on your own.

Research can be done in Bracken Library, home of the state-of-the-art Helen B. and Martin D. Schwartz Special Collections and Digital Complex. Plus, Bracken Library has access to more than 2.3 million volumes of books, periodicals, microforms, and other information sources. Our university's cutting-edge technology also includes a campuswide, high speed, wireless network.

With the skills you gain from our program, you will be a great candidate for a variety of jobs or for a doctoral program.
