What Majors Would Benefit from This Minor?

When you study history, you’re not just learning events and dates. You are learning how to communicate effectively and how to analyze data, both of which are important skills that employers look for.

A minor in history would complement some majors quite well. For instance, journalism is a major that would benefit greatly from a history minor—it is often said that journalists, in reporting the news, write the “first draft of history.”

Political science majors deal with historical accounts on a daily basis in the land of politics—especially if a student has aspirations of being a political analyst. Telecommunications majors with a concentration in history will see benefits on set as they make sure the clothing, script, and other factors are consistent with the time period.
