DP 2: Admission to Teaching Curriculum

Teacher Education Decision Point 2: Admission to Teaching Curriculum

Students seeking admission to the teaching curriculum must notify the Director of Social Studies Education when they have met all DP 2 requirements and wish to have their status reviewed. Ideally, students will seek admission to the teaching curriculum in the spring semester their sophomore year. The deadline for notifying the Director is the last day of classes each semester. A sheet will be posted outside of BB 219A. Students who have met the requirements for admission to the teaching curriculum must sign up on this sheet. A review of the status of students who have indicated they seek admission to the teaching curriculum will take place after grades have posted each semester.

(Passing DP 2 is required for admission to the teaching curriculum and for admission into SS350 --you must pass DP 2 requirements in all 3 of your chosen areas)

(A)  Completion of required Education classes (EDMUL 205 and EDPSY 251) with minimum grade of C.
(B) Completion of COMM 210 minimum grade of C.
(C) Passing CASA score or minimum ACT score of 24/SAT score of 1100.
