Biography
Stephanie Beswick has recently published Sudan's Blood Memory: The Legacy of War, Ethnicity and Slavery in Early South Sudan (University of Rochester Press, 2004). She is presently writing a book on slavery and resistance in Southern Sudan and has edited and contributed to two books on northeast Africa, she has edited and contributed to one special journal on women in the Horn of Africa and has written a number of articles. Beswick is currently the president of the Sudan Studies Association.
