If you apply online to Ball State, you'll find a question that asks whether you want to apply for the Honors College. If you click “Yes,” your application will expand to include the Honors College application, which will then be submitted directly to us when you submit your Ball State application. You also may be asked to submit a letter of reference, which should be sent separately by a teacher (preferably) or high school counselor on official letterhead.
It usually takes about two or three weeks after we have a completed application to reach a decision about your Honors College admission; you will be notified of that decision directly by the Honors College. Honors admission closes on May 1--this means we need your complete application before that date.
If you are a transfer student, the process also starts by submitting the online honors college application to the Office of Admissions. Existing Ball State students should instead submit the form directly to the Honors College at firstname.lastname@example.org.
