Apply to be a Mentor

The application deadline for fall 2009 Honors College peer mentors has passed. Honors students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in fall 2010 may apply to be peer mentors for that term; the deadline is March 6, 2010. Applications will be accepted as they are submitted.

New Mentors
If you have never been a peer mentor before, you must complete an application and schedule an interview. We offer online and printable versions of the application for your convenience.

  • Online form: Fill out the Honors Peer Mentor Application and then make an appointment for the interview by calling 765-285-1024, or visit the Honors College front desk in Carmichael Hall. Note: The application form asks for a statement explaining why you want to be a peer mentor. You should compose your statement (about one page) before filling out the online application so you can copy and paste your text into the form.
  • Hard copy: Print the Honors Peer Mentor Application (PDF) or pick up a hard copy of the form at the Honors College front desk in Carmichael Hall. Fill it out by hand, attach the required essay about why you want to be a peer mentor, and deliver your application to the Honors College. While you’re in Carmichael Hall to submit your application, remember to make an appointment for the interview. Or you may call 765-285-1024 to arrange the interview.

Whichever method you choose, be sure to print a copy of your completed application for yourself. If you have questions, please contact Laurie Lindberg.

Returning Mentors
If you have been an Honors College peer mentor previously, you don’t have to schedule an interview. You should, however, be sure to contact Laurie Lindberg as soon as possible to discuss how to confirm your participation. Written confirmation is required.
