Admission Requirements and How to Apply
If you’re ready to apply to the master’s in public relations, take the following steps:
1. Apply and meet the admission requirements of the Ball State Graduate School.
2. Apply and meet the admission requirements of the Department of Journalism, which include:
- Three recommendations using the department form
- A current résumé
- Transcripts of all previous graduate and undergraduate course work (a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test results (a minimum score of 150 on the verbal section) - A 500- to 1,000-word statement of purpose
If you are an international student, you need to start with the Rinker Center for International Programs. You will be asked to demonstrate English proficiency. International students may substitute the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for the GRE and must achieve a minimum score on the TOEFL of 79 (Internet-based) or 550 (paper-based).
