Experience. It’s how you develop the skills and poise you need to succeed, no matter what career you’re pursuing. It’s what it takes to land a great job, then advance to an even better role. It’s not always easy to gain.

The Miller College of Business emphasizes a blend of advanced and up-to-the-minute classroom instruction with the kind of learning for which Ball State University is known. Professors know well that solid classroom learning is critical but also not complete. They’ve crafted a learning experience that’s, well, long on experience.

Ball State’s program in entrepreneurship, for example, features a capstone requirement that’s as stomach-churning as any real-world entrepreneurial experience—craft a business plan, present it to a panel of entrepreneurs, and only if they offer a stamp of approval are you allowed to graduate on time.

Business students in all disciplines interact regularly with business professionals, who share not only their expertise but also their problems, giving you the chance to be part of real-world solution building. We emphasize immersive learning and internships for the experience and connections they provide.

We have a wide range of programs—from undergraduate majors and minors to graduate degrees to certificate programs. Majors are divided among five departments. We also operate several centers that attract and consolidate expertise and share information. You can participate in student organizations for camaraderie as well as insight into aspects of the business world.

And just like in the real world, we’re always evolving and creating more ways to assist in your success.

A new bachelor's degree in sales will be available in fall 2010—a first in Indiana. Our minors in entrepreneurship can be seamlessly paired with majors in business, fashion merchandising, construction management, or any other degree. The minors are available with specific tracks for business and non-business students. Our nationally ranked master of business administration (MBA) program now offers a sales concentration.

Your course work will be rigorous, but you will be in a supportive environment with living-learning communities for freshmenadvising services, and more
