Nalitra Thaiprasert, PhD, is a faculty research fellow for the Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State University. She performs this role from her native country of Thailand. In Thailand, she is faculty member of the economics department at Chiang Mai University.
Until summer 2011, Thaiprasert worked at Ball State as a research economist for both the Center for Business and Economic Research and the Office of Building Better Communities. During her five years at Ball State, she had completed several funded project reports on various topics including the livestock sector, economic impact analysis, manufacturing cluster analysis, export adaptability, and public finance. She also taught international economics and macroeconomics in the Miller College of Business.
Thaiprasert earned her doctoral and master’s degrees in international development (development economics) from Nagoya University (Japan). She received a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand). Her research interests include applied macroeconomics, structural change, economic development, international and regional economics, and input-output and CGE analyses.
