Kerry Anne McGeary, PhD is the director of the Global Health Institute, the Phyllis A. Miller Professor of Health Economics, and an associate professor of economics in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. She teaches in the Miller College’s nationally recognized graduate program. She is a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and is a member of the American Cancer Society’s peer-review Committee for Cancer Control and Prevention: Health Policy and Health Services Research. 

McGeary’s research focuses on health economics, health policy and health services. She has produced 22 peer-reviewed publications. In 2009, The Southern Economics Association selected her Southern Economic Journal article as the winner of the Georgescu-Roegen Prize for best paper. McGeary’s research has been awarded funding at the federal, state and local levels. In addition, her research received attention from national and international media outlets, such as Parenting Magazine, Health Care Finance News and the Associated Press.

McGeary attained her undergraduate degree in economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. She earned her master's degree and doctorate degree in economics from the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). Before arriving at Ball State’s Miller College of Business, she was a member of the economics faculty at the University of Miami and Drexel University. She was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Awards from the Graduate Student Association at the University of Miami and from the Department of Economics at Penn State. While at Drexel University, she was awarded the Leadership Award for New Faculty.
